Cable's Strong Hold On Summer Viewers

The 2008 Summer season proves strong for Ad-Supported Cable in spite of NBC telecasting the Summer Olympics. Cable garnered a 33.8 household rating – 14.6 points above Broadcasts’ Seven net level in Primetime. The Olympics boosted Broadcasts’ Big Four ratings by 20%. Majority of the growth was driven by an influx of Adults 50+. Even with the Olympics being telecast, viewers spent majority of their time with Cable – tuning into Cable’s top notch original programming.
